Today a close up, I chose knitting.  My Great Aunt Mary taught me and my cousin Barbara to knit when we were about 7 years old.  Aunt Mary was my maternal grand mother's younger sister, she had Barbara late in life, so while Barbara and I were only a couple of years apart in age, out parents were very different in age.  So Aunt Mary taught me to knit, and I have knitted ever since, my paternal grand mother tried to teach me to crochet a couple of times, but I never was able to get it… and so I preferred knitting.
