Draw something on your mantle or a shelf.  Our house in Charleston SC doesn't have a fireplace nor a mantle, a shelf it had to be.  Nothing fun on any shelf in my house, so I used a picture in a magazine that caught my eye.  Coral and starfish and blue bottles… back to gouache for this page.

Today is my baby brother's birthday… so happy birthday to buttercup. (That's what our grandmother called him).
