#Inktober2015 number 31- all done, today was the hardest.  Spent the day traveling to Atlanta, and cleaning out my father's old desk, so that I could bring it home with me.  We left Charleston at 7am and got back here around 9:30pm... This is the key to the desk, and I also found in the desk a key my brother had been looking for and couldn't find.  Today is the last day of Inktober, and some how I managed every single day.  I usually draw something every day,  even so, I find these 'challenges' well challenging.  Funny I can't wait to do a watercolor page with NO INK... lol.  #inktober #usa #kuretake - oh an no more # either... what a pain in the neck and I'm not on Twitter so do they even work?

#Inktober2015 number 30, brush pens and watercolor for this next to the last inktober drawing.  The hot pink legs work don't you think?

Title page for Sketchbook number 35, a Moleskine watercolor journal this time.  I ordered/backed a large B5 Perfect Sketchbook, not sure exactly what I'll use it for but I love Fabriano Watercolor paper and that's what the paper will be.

#Inktober2015 - number 29 a Mobius Strip today.  I watched a Shoo Rayner You tube video  and tried my hand at drawing it.  Used Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush pens for the color, I love these pens and use them a lot.  #inktober #kuretakeinktober #usa #kuretake

#inktober2015 number 28 a spider and web inspired by a clip art version.  Windy today, blew the rain clouds out of her, and the sun came out.  Reminded me of the Itsy, bitsy spider rhyme... so I had to do a spider today.

#Inktober2015 number 27 today's prompt was 'green',  so a green fish with an underbite.  I go into these challenges with a lot of enthusiasm but as they draw to a close I find I am weary of it and ready to do something, anything different.  One more page in this journal and I'll be changing to a Moleskine Watercolor Journal next, which should last through the end of the year.

#Inktober2015 number 26 I'm taking Lynn Chapman's Craftsy class this cat was one of her animal examples, well my rendering of her animal.  I'm enjoying the class, if you're interested here's the link Expressive Picture Book Characters.

#Inktober2015 number 25, an ink and inktense pencil colored lizard.  I have two (basic green) lizards that live in the window beside my desk, as I'm a night owl and have the lights on late I image dinner is an easy catch for them.  I used artistic license to make my green lizard more colorful.

#Inktober2015 number 24... we played the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last night in Greenville (we lost) and tonight in Charleston, we lost ago.  Greenville has a new mascot nickname they used to be the road warriors, but for some unknown reason they changed it to 'Swamp Rabbits'.  Normally, a rabbit wandering the swamps around here would be FOOD for the gators.  But based on our teams lackluster performance, it appears that Stingrays are the rabbit food.

#Inktober2015 number 23, I'd already done my thumb so with no inspiration today, I drew my fist.  Used Tombow markers around the drawing and added water with a waterbrush

#Inktober2015 number 22 today, just ink on a fancy E...  it was fun to do, made my hands shake toward the end because I didn't want to mess it up.

#Inktober2015 number 21, orange and yellow watercolor, then inked in a spooky scene.  Today was the day dialed into the time machine in the 'Back to the Future' movie.  Will the Cubs Win today?  The movie predicted they'd win.  They also predicted hover skateboards and that didn't happen either. #inktober #kuretakeinktober #kuretake #usa

#Inktober2015 number 20, used pencil for the moon, marker for the bat, and inktense pencils for the night sky.  Got a Pentalic Aqua Journal yesterday, thought I'd ordered an 8 x 5, got a 3 x 5 whoopsi... the universe is determined for me to downsize my sketchbooks... but the universe can push all it wants I'm just not ready to downsize my daily sketchbook quite so small.  #inktober #kuretakeinktober #usa

#Inktober2015 number 19 pencil, inked and then used markers to color him.  Went to Doctor this morning, he thinks the ear looks good and it is accepting the skin graft.  He took pictures so I got him to take a picture of it with my phone.  I will have to bow to his assessment, because I think it looks pretty bad.  #inktober #kuretakeinktober #usa

#inktober2015 number 18 an orange kitty, I had an orange tom cat years ago named Burger King, because that's where I found him one rainy night and took him home with me.  I do believe orange is one of my favorite colors.  What a difference a day can make, today the Stingrays were skunked by Reading 6 to 0, it was not fun to witness them getting demolished like that.

#inktober2015 number 17, pencil sketch, inked, then watercolor to commemorate the Stingrays first home game of the season.  I do love hockey, we've had season tickets to our local ECHL team since I moved here in 1998, Ron has had tickets since the team was established back in 1993.  #inktober #kuretake #usa #kuretakeinktober

#inktober2015 number 16, more Tombow pen and a ghost to scare you.  Stayed home from work today, didn't get much sleep last night after the lidocaine wore off the pain woke me up and kept me up.  Hoping to get some sleep tonight. #inktober #kuretake #usa #inktoberkuretake

#Inktober2015 number 15, a simple one today, used Tombow markers to color this one.  Spent all day getting Mohs surgery on a cancer spot on my ear.  The doctor used the skin on my neck to graft on the hole left in my ear.  The lidocaine shots haven't worn off yet, so no pain yet, how about a selfie of the bandaged ear.  #inktober #kuretakeinktober #usa #kuretake

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

#Inktober2015 number 14, for this one I used inktense pencils (which is ink) to color the little imaginary village of houses.  I saw this Andy Rooney quote in a magazine today and just had to include it in my journal.  I'll be spending tomorrow having Mohs surgery on my ear... time for the cancer to be cut out.  #inktober #kuretake #inktoberKuretake #usa

#inktober2015 number 13 I'm taking a free Strathmore class taught by Alphonso Dunn (I hope I spelled his name correctly).  One of the exercises from this week's lesson was a teddy bear.  So I gave the bear a try,  he makes it look so easy... his bear looks fabulous... mine looks confused LOL.

Monday, October 12, 2015

#Inktober2015 number 12, I used my Lamy orange ink to draw Carrot Top.  I used colored pencils to color his eyes.  This ink is water soluble so I used a waterbrush to spread the ink to color his hair,  now that it's dry it looks a bit pinker than orange in some places.  Ron's chili was fabulous... so we have a plan for the chili contest coming up in a couple of weeks.

#Inktober2015 number 11 a baby Panda I was going to add some bamboo however,  I need a lot of bamboo practice, never got any that I was satisfied with on copy paper.  Ron made a test batch of chili tonight, we haven't eaten it yet, it is simmering in the crock pot,  taste tests were great tonight, chili for dinner tomorrow.

#inktober2015 number 10, background with pink and blue Distress Ink, then a pen to draw the pipes... pretty wonky pipe system there.
Went to Michaels today to shop for art supply storage, 55% this weekend, came home with the desktop marker caddy, took me about an hour to put it together, but I'm very happy to have all my pens and watercolor pencils as well as my colored pencils on my desk, visible and ready to use, no more searching for the box containing the pen or pencil I want.

Friday, October 9, 2015

#inktober2015 number 9, stayed with the Halloween theme today, used Tim Holtz Distress ink for the background, used a foam wedge to smooth it out, then drew my witch. I think she turned out ok, the witches in the Wizard of Oz used to give me nightmares as a kid. #inktober #kuretake #kuretakeinktober #usa

#Inktober #Inktober2015 #Kuretake #kuretakeInktober #USA number 8,  used my Kuretake Fudegokochi (the white one) to ink the monster/dragon and to do the lettering.  Doodled several dragons today, couldn't figure out how to make the wings work, so just did his face.

Wednesday, October 7, 2015

#Inktober #Inktober2015 #Kuretake #kuretakeInktober #USA Used my Zig Clean color markers on the 'Hog'.  Ron is thinking of entering a chili cooking contest.  He would be representing our local Charleston Hog Group,  so we settled on 'Hog's Breath chili' for the name of his chili.  I told him I'd make a sign for his table, so this is my first attempt.  I used orange for the hog (because Harley Davidson's colors are Orange and Black)... but maybe he's too cute.

#inktober2015 number 6 - First time in a long time I've done a pencil drawing first, used a pentel pocket brush pen for the lines... couldn't resist adding color.  Lettering done with a .07 Rotring Tikky Graphic pen.

Monday, October 5, 2015

#Inktober2015 - number 5 used a .01 pen for this thumbnail sketch.  I resisted the temptation to add color.  Senator Tim Scott posted pictures of the flooding in SC, amazing pictures.  I'm very blessed that we had only a small amount of ponding in our backyard, so muddy dog feet was my number one problem from the floods.

Sunday, October 4, 2015

#Inktober2015 number 4, more watercolor than ink in this one.  Used a .01 Rotring Tikky Graphic pen to draw the frog.  Used a Pilot parallel pen (green cap 3.8mm) with blue ink cartridge to add the title.  Have no fear the frogs are alive and well and LOVING all this rain.  The sun did come out for a little bit today, but the rain is pounding on our roof again... sigh.

Saturday, October 3, 2015

#InkTober2015 number 3, this one done completely in pentel pocket brush pen, to honor the kids downtown today in their kayaks.  They say the rain will continue tomorrow as well... if it does my husband my need his kayak to walk the dogs tomorrow. The frogs are LOVING this and have been singing all day, I've been working on knitting a scarf.  We tried to go shopping today, but the stores were closed... I'm ready for it to stop now.

Friday, October 2, 2015

#Inktober2015 number two, most people are not adding color, but I did see that Jake Parker occasionally added color... so I just couldn't NOT add some color to this.  Used my pentel pocket brush pen (that was running out of ink, new cartridge installed half way through), for the zebra pattern, and watercolor for the colors.

Oct01Art - Inktober 2015

I'm going to participate in Jake Parker's Inktober 2015 ... 31 days of Ink drawings.  I usually do use ink, so this won't be a particular stretch for me, but I do plan on trying some different inks and nibs.  So my Franklin-Christoph Music nib, drawn with a Rotring Tikky Graphic .04 permanent ink pen, the surrounding grey from a TomBow N51, water added.  The inktober title done with a Lamy with a 1.5 Calligraphy nib loaded with deAtramentis Archive black ink.  The music nib pen is loaded with Noodlers Lexington Grey Ink (looks pale next to all the black).   So intober 2015 begins, I promise not to bore everyone with ink pen and ink posts for 31 days. #inktober2015
