Last day of March, where does the time go.  Finished reading 'Shut your Monkey' by Danny Gregory,  good book, lots of excellent insights.  I think I need to read it again, more slowly next time.  Threw some paint colors on the page, and then added ink to create flowers.

The local Palmetto trees are producing seeds now,  I don't think they are edible, based only on the fact that squirrels and birds have no interest in them.

Just a bunch of Spring flowers, doodled while watching TV.  My SD card reader came in the mail today, tried it out on the iPad and it worked like a charm.  Now I'll be able to load pictures from my cameras to the iPad so that I can upload them to Ipernity to store them until I get home from my trip.

Monthly flute lesson tonight, need to break some bad habits I've gotten into... Jessica notices every detail, she is an excellent teacher.
A fun toothy monster fish, for today's journal page.

Happy Easter everyone.   We had another day of rain, all day long.  I expect to see the College of Charleston students with kayaks in the streets tomorrow at high tide if this rain doesn't let up soon.

Rained on and off ALL DAY LONG,  Ron had to work, so I putzed around the house and drew a couple more states in my ride journal.

The wisteria is in it's glory today, especially in Columbia, the fences and trees were loaded down with lavender flowers everywhere I looked.  I try every year to capture the essence of these gorgeous blooms, here's my 2016 attempt.

Got a pack of 8 of these pencils today, already sharpened this one several times today with the provided wooden pencil sharpener.  Finally, got out my knife and shaved back the wood like I do on my watercolor pencils, this method works the best for this fun colored pencil.  The pencil is very soft so it uses up a sharp point quickly, but I think it works best with a blunt end so all the colors are in play.  That's what this pencil is, play time, I LOVE just doing swirls and doodles with it.

A few watercolor blob chicks, and an inspirational quote, is all I could muster for today's journal entry.  I did get Texas and New Mexico added to my trip journal. Spent way too much time trying to figure out how to connect my camera to my iPad (which I think is impossible).  I guess I'll use the camera until my SD card fills up and deal with the pictures when I get home... or use my phone to take pictures... ugh,  I really prefer to use my Nikon 360D to take photos, or even my little pocket Nikon... sigh.

Happy Birthday to me, I'm 65 today, I don't feel like I'm 65, well most days I don't, some days I feel 85.  It was cool today, I want that 80 degree weather back, at least a few days before it's 90+ every day.

Ron and I went to a funeral today for a friend that died suddenly last week.  We knew him from the HOG club,  he was the club photographer.  He was a Fire Chief for many years, and after retirement he started his own business as an arson investigator.  He was 62 years old, his mother attended the funeral as did his great-aunt who was 97 years old... and lots of firemen were in attendance too.  Ben will be missed.   Here's a picture of Ben that I took March the 5th, he's in the orange cap with his camera in hand.

What a difference a day can make, tonight the Rays held on to beat Florida 2 to 1 and put the Rays in first place in their division.  Only 5 more home games left in the season now.  I have a trip planned in June, and I've started working on my travel journal.  I'm pre-drawing each state I'll be traveling through and the route thru the state we plan to take.  I plan to take the journal with me, and hopefully do a little drawing and at the very least write something each day.  I'll take my camera and load the book with photos too, when I get home.  I seriously doubt I'll ever be able to do something like this ever again.  Take a peek at the route here http://www.womensfreedomride.org/index.php/2016

Saw this on Facebook today and had to copy the saying.  Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone,  hope you didn't drink too much green beer today.

My 'Shut your Monkey' book arrived today,  I'm enjoying reading it now.  My personal monkey, isn't a monkey, it's an ugly troll that shows up in person whenever I run a high fever.  The rest of the time he lives in my head.

I had a GOOD Ides of March, meeting with the Ladies of Harley for dinner tonight.  Good friends, good food, good time.  Wasn't late to work today so my clocks are all in sync now.  Sadly, predicted bad weather this weekend has cancelled our trip to St. Augustine... probably would have been miserable if the predictions are correct.

Somehow I set my alarm an hour ahead as well as my clock, and well I ended up an hour late this morning.  A perk of working at home, I was able to start work on time in my pjs, and I've fixed my clock so I should be up on time tomorrow.

The prettiest azaleas we have are the pink one with dark pink spots.  The bush is in full bloom today.  We washed the bikes and car today, well Ron washed and I dried.  I gave Jeb a bath, my pig pen doggie is white again, he looks so good.  It was supposed to rain today, but it never did, we could use a hard rain, to knock down the pollen that is horrible now.

Took a little ride over to Mt. Pleasant on the bikes this afternoon, followed by a very exciting hockey game tonight.  Rays played an outstanding game, the Atlanta team was very frustrated at the outcome and wanted to settle it with their fists after the final horn,  the refs managed to herd them off the ice much like a border collie with reluctant sheep.

Another great Spring day in Charleston today, had to give drawing my Jessamine a try.  Looking forward to getting a ride in tomorrow, sadly it is supposed to rain Sunday. I'm a 60/30 rider, I want at least 60 degrees and 30 percent or less chance of rain.

None of my flowers are in bloom yet, except for the azaleas and my carolina jasmine. Mostly the weeds are in full bloom though.  Time to get hold of the yard service and get them to give the yard a Spring cleaning.

Crab Apple trees are in bloom, I noticed when we went out for dinner tonight.  It actually got up to 80 degrees at my house today,  so flip flop weather is back, which makes me very happy.

Daphne du Maurier is one of my favorite authors, watching a very old movie (made when I was 2 years old) with Richard Burton and Oliva de Havilland in 'My Cousin Rachel'...  so a quote of hers on International Women's Day.

The Peeps are in the stores, and we couldn't resist a small box of them.  So very bad for us both, but we do love them, so a bit of indulgence once a year isn't that bad right?

My faithful old Swingline Stapler sitting on my desk today.  Probably should have drawn all the laundry I did today, can't wait for warmer weather and lighter loads of laundry.

Book 37 - Title Page

Done with the tiny sketchbook, back to a 5 x 8 Landscape format with watercolor paper.  Spring is just around the corner, so Jonquils for the cover page.

Ron is taking a motorcycle safety class this weekend, I took my FLRT to the blessing of the bikes this morning.  I helped out directing traffic for a while this morning, then participated in the blessing.

The sea oats on the side of the road caught my eye today.  I had to get a new watch today, I broke my charging module for my other watch, and since we'd gotten the replacement warranty, I turned in the broken one, and got a new one.  Not a nice big screen like the old one, but an easier charger, so I guess I wasn't the only klutz that broke one.

Raining tonight, will hopefully help the hyacinth I transplanted yesterday. My azaleas are blooming and my calla lilies need to be transplanted too... maybe tomorrow or this weekend.

Ron and I were discussing Round Tuit's tonight, he had a wooden one and so did I.  Did you have one? I need one these days, Spring cleaning brings up the need for them big time.

Super Tuesday, looks like the networks are again using exit polls to call the elections, thought they were going to stop doing that.  Why wait for the actual vote counts to be completed?  Not sure why this annoys me so much, but it does.  Great day in SC today March in like a lamb today.
