We Southerners have so many unique names for things, it was hard to pick one for this challenge... while it's so darn cold I decided on a Spring flower that grows wild in some places in the South, the Jonquil...aka Daffodil

Yup, up here in MI we call 'em daffodils.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely picture; I needed it badly. We're butt-deep in the white stuff and it's so dang cold, it's making everybody grumpy.
Hi Elaine, thank you for your very nice comment about my "memorial" painting. We are currently experiencing spring-like weather here in the SF bay Area, but a little bit colder - however, we REALLY need rain - big time.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice springy drawing. I always thought jonquils and daffodils were different flowers. I learned something new.. It is funny how relative cold can be. I saw your 18 degrees and thought that's warm.. LOL.. We have been at minus 20+ degrees for the last week or so.. Gonna have a heat wave next week. It's supposed to get up to 30! yahoo.
ReplyDeleteHello. Thank you for your nice comment on my Jefferson Memorial. I like yours, also.
ReplyDeleteWhen it is that cold in your neck of the woods, it has to be brutal. I love your daffodil, a sure sign of warm springs ahead.
