Funny how one word 'shell' can evoke so many memories... of my first credit card (Shell), trips to Florida as a child collecting shells, my friend Maggie who makes lovely glass beads that look like shells... all that from just one word.

Got a couple of packages today, beside the surprise from Dixie. I got a lovely smelling box of handmade soap from Wilmoth Farms.. I love this stuff. I also got a package from Amazon, with a book on painting crystal and glass, and Dan Price's" How to make a Journal of your Life"..and Rick Tulsa's "Paris cafe" the Select crowd. Can't decide which one to read first I've looked at the pictures in all of them... now to dive in.

If I do this one again... I need to make my elephants bigger, my rocks smaller, and I need to figure out how to mix green paint. How can Bob make dabbing paint on with a sponge look like leaves on a tree, and when I do it, it looks like a three year old dabbing paint with a sponge? Without further ado... here it is... 9x12 140 lbs Cold Pressed WC paper Watercolor using Bob Davies DVD lessons.

Dixie fit right in now, painting a black dog is no easy feat... well I have a pond to paint tonight.

My first blog award for 2009
Proximidade is described as follows:
'This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!'
The rules are: This blog award should be sent to your favorite eight bloggers and they, in turn should forward to eight of their favorites. You should include the text for Proximidade (above) in your announcement blog.
So, now I've got to pass this award to 8 wonderful people, and I choose:

That odd blob of color was my attempt at a new way to do a signature. You're supposed to press hard signing leaving an impression in the paper (which I did), then a was over will 'reveal' the signature... well the reveal part didn't happen at all...hum?

We Southerners have so many unique names for things, it was hard to pick one for this challenge... while it's so darn cold I decided on a Spring flower that grows wild in some places in the South, the Jonquil...aka Daffodil

Dixie did actually go get the ball once today, when we held the terriers back... they usually beat her to it, and at first she didn't even try... then she started running following them, then today, break thru, she picked up the ball...Dixie knows what a tennis ball is for now... at least around here anyway.

We missed most of the football games today... we were on the road. Noticed lots of RV's on the road today, guess they are loving the low diesel prices now.
