Tried making a seed bead covered Easter Egg today... burnt my fingers with the hot glue... and used WAY too much which when dry made the egg look awful.  So I think I'll stick to watercolors ... at least I don't burn myself when I mess up a painting.  I have a lot of respect for people who can do these eggs... it's a LOT harder to do than it looks.
