Aug16Art

Really hazy, hot and humid today… just sucked the life out of me, so I didn't feel like doing much of anything.  Managed to doodle a bit with my dip pen and since it was out on my desk, I drew it in my sketchbook.  Got my 'Painting Flowers in Watercolour' book by Karen Simmons, today and read several chapters, good book, looking forward to reading more of her color suggestions for shadows on flowers.

    I love the way she mixes and clashes colours on the paper. Do like your dip pen!

    I'm starting to love the dip pen, I can get a really fine line with it, and with just a little pressure a wide line. I'm starting to like the sound it makes as it moves across the paper. Still breaking it in, and it is not something I can take out and about, spilling an expensive bottle of ink would not be fun…. so far I've only had a blob of ink drip from the lid once otherwise no mis-haps… but I'm a klutz and expect issues with open ink bottles eventually.
