Finally home... and able to scan my daily pages... my phone gave me fits... and refused to work Wed, Thurs and Friday.  The motel WiFi was so bad I couldn't use it to upload a picture at all... Glad to be home again, doing mounds of laundry ... and being the doorman for the dogs today.

Well drawing a screw proved a challenge for me... this goofy looking thing is the best I could do... couldn't find a quote... that wasn't rude, crude and socially unacceptable... so painted, message...
Panera Bread for breakfast then pack the car and head to the mountains.

My canvas tool bag is packed with brushes and paint and all the stuff I could fit in it for my week long workshop in Boone NC.  I'll be taking a Birgit O'Connor workshop painting flowers... I'm so looking forward to it.  I wish this 'bag' was the only one I needed... I have a Cheap Joe's workshopper bag also full of brushes and stuff... a two gallon water bucket loaded with my palette and more brushes... and then there's the box of full size sheets of watercolor paper... a couple of sketch books... ok I'm taking just about everything I own including a coffee cup and a wine glass... oh yes and flip flops and underwear :-)

My little girl dog Gracie makes me laugh almost every day... her playful spirit in contagious.  My husband also makes me laugh... but drew the dog because she is easier.

I had two choices for maps, either a tracking dog map or an agility dog course map.  Since the agility dogs have much more colorful maps... I chose this one.  The quote is from Susan Garett a very famous agility dog trainer, google her if you're curious about dog agility.  The dotted path is the intended path of the dog... but is not usually included on maps posted for the handlers to study... figuring out the best path is part of the game.  This would be a beginner training exercise... because there are no weave poles and no see saw... and no double or triple jumps... just an easy fun run for dogs and handlers.

Green bananas were the last item added to the cart... I remember because I sent my husband to get them as I was unloading the cart at the check out.  So 'green' bananas was the last thing I bought.

I rarely drink Margaritas... but if I'm going to have a drink other than wine or beer... it will be a Margarita... besides they have cool looking glasses and a great yellow green color.
Well Flickr rolled out a new interface, doesn't work that well looks like a bad imitation of Facebook (which I don't really like that much either).  Added my complaints to the thousands piling up in the help forums.  Don't web programmers TEST their code before moving to production?

My husband handed over his watch without even asking why I wanted it... but curious got the better of him when I handed it back... he asked what I needed it for.  Since there are 4 clocks in plain view of my desk one set to GMT and I had my own watch on... he had a reason to be curious.  I explained about needing to draw something that belonged to someone else...and that I'd thought about drawing his jockey shorts... but decided that was too personal.  He agreed the watch was a better choice LOL.

Tried to do a continuous line drawing of my left palm.... I still get lost doing those.. that's why my little finger ended up looking bigger than my thumb LOL...
Watching the Preakness... will Orb have a shot at the triple crown this year?  We'll know pretty soon.

I thought I was so clever using my red ink to letter the Band-Aid in the places it was red on the actual band-aid... but discovered my new 'Cranberry' Noodler's ink doesn't play well with water... probably should have painted the pale blue first and then lettered... now it looks like my drawing is in need of a band-aid...

In the news this week, but even before all that... a letter in the mail from the IRS can make my heart skip a beat or two or three.  They definitely scare me BIG TIME.

I love my yellow Lamy pen so much, when I saw a yellow Lamy mechanical pencil I had to have it... I must admit I don't use it much anymore... too hard for watercolor paper, and not dark enough for note taking... so it is just pretty to look at... otherwise useless.
My favorite pencil is a 4B Koh-I-Noor... ugly but useful... so I didn't draw it.

This little Rhino I got at Barnes and Nobel book store.  It caught my eye because it is a bright red/orange.. and it is labeled as 'Rhino Eraser'.. I have never used it as an eraser... I enjoy looking at it too much.
So I'm hoping an eraser counts as a figurine.

This is my foam neck pillow... I love this pillow and when I travel it goes with me... compared to other people's decorative pillows it is pretty plain jane... but looks aren't everything...and where it counts 'comfort' this pillow shines.

This jar of grape jelly probably 2 years old... and possibly older.  This is my jar of jelly and I have a piece of toast maybe once a month, and since I'm a diabetic I only use a tiny bit of jelly for flavor on my toast.  My husband doesn't like grape jelly, so it takes me YEARS to finish a small jar of jelly.  So it is no doubt the oldest thing in our refrigerator.

Couldn't decide between boxing gloves or a baseball glove... boxing gloves won out for today's challenge to draw gloves.  Used my new Noodlers Cape Code Cranberry Ink in a 'red' Preppy fountain pen.  I really like these fountain pens... added plus that they are so inexpensive (less than $5.00).

Padlocks to Channel locks... I decided Goldi-locks would be a lot more fun to draw than a regular lock...
Headed out to the Citadel for a Free to Choose seminar tonight.

I don't really have a coffee pot like this... we have a coffee maker, you hold the cup up to it, push the lever and it dispenses the coffee.. just don't think it qualifies as a coffee pot... so I made one up... used my Pentel Pocket Brush pen to draw it... gives character to my wonky lines.

I don't get much 'free' stuff, but I am a FREE WiFi hog... and it is the 'new' Air Conditioning and Swimming pool these days isn't it?

My mother wore Chanel No5, It was very popular when she was a young woman.  Whenever I smell it, it reminds me of her, so with Mother's Day coming the end of the week I had to draw her favorite for EDiM #6.

Since I drew a full grown pine tree just a week ago, I chose a LongLeaf pine seedling.. for the EDiM #5... they are unique and interesting trees and endangered these days.  There is a planted stand of them in the Francis Marion National Forest called the Lorax Forest as the foundation Dr. Seuss created funded the planing of the trees back in the 1990's... thanks to them the trees thrive again in the forest.

Location of the Lorax forest near my home.  My husband and I often take our Jeep into the forest and enjoy the swamps where the swamp fox hid to pester the British during the Revolutionary War.
The Long Leaf pines, which used to cover 70 million acres of Southern forest, now exist in only 4 million acres.

Spent the day in Columbia SC at the state GOP convention.... ran way longer than it should have met with our friends for dinner afterwards... and then the long drive home.... and unlike everyone else I'll have to do it again on Monday.
Kentucky horse won the derby... congratulations to ORB... sure would be nice to see a triple crown winner this year.

Joy... Another tough concept to draw...  I must admit I'm enjoying seeing everyone's drawings each day, it is tough to come up with something unique.
The oops at the bottom of the page... no way I could turn the 'A' I wrote into an 'M'... senior moment... forgot it was May LOL.

EDiM#2 - Draw your favorite sound.  That's a tough one, how do you draw a sound?  I suppose music is my favorite sound.  All kinds of music... my brothers are very musical as is my daughter... I sang in the choir as a teenager, and played the piano... but my talent (if any) isn't in music. I do love the sound of music.

A group of artists on Flickr and now on Facebook... every May, choose a list of things to draw.. and every day in May everyone draws something based on the daily suggestion.  Today, we draw something bubbly.  So I drew my husband's SodaStream machine.  After a visit to my daughter's for Christmas one year and Ron got to see my son-in-law Jon's SodaStream... he of course had to have one.  He mostly uses it to make soda water... which he drinks plain.  Sometimes he adds scotch. I don't like plain soda water and I don't like scotch... but I do believe since this machine creates bubbly water it meets the goal of something bubbly.
