I find it interesting that these gulls gather in the parking lots, sometimes in quite large flocks... and sometimes they seem to be playing 'chicken' with drivers... how close can I let the car get before I have to move or fly away. My husband hates them calls them flying rats... Not having been raised here I find them beautiful and interesting to watch.

ReplyDeleteWhat always freaks me out is that we get sea gull-ish looking birds in the parking lots here in the middle of the continent. I laughed at the flying rats description, but I do like to watch them. There's a scene in the kids' movie Finding Nemo that has a flock of gulls chasing things to eat. They run around shouting "Mine! Mine! Mine!" I love that!
