Another day, another tree... Drawing the trunk and branches first and then adding the leaves is proving to be a challenge for me.
Spent most of my time this evening trying to get my new plastic palette to make a puddle... I'm starting to HATE plastic palettes... but I can't lug my porcelain plate into the field... it's too heavy and I don't want to break it ... ARGH

I want to sit under that tree on a sunny autumn afternoon. So, I never can grasp how to get all the depth, the roundness, of a tree in just two dimensions. Why is doing the trunk and branches first harder for you? Have you been doing them after painting in the leaves?
