We rode out to Lake Marion this afternoon to look at a used toy hauler for sale. On the way home we stopped for lunch at Sweatman's BBQ, it was a delightful experience. Our waitress led us all in singing Joy to the World, she remarked when we were done that we were the first group to join in singing with her today... Christmas spirit alive and well in South Carolina.

Stingrays lost to Atlanta tonight, in spite of some really odd behavior from the referees, they richly deserved to lose, lack luster effort wasn't effective tonight.

Gorgeous sunny, cold day today, no snow here, but my friends and relatives in Atlanta Georgia have snow. I doubt it'll last until Christmas but for us Southern folk, snow is always magical.

Day 2 of cold and rain, forecast says Saturday will be the same. Snow in Atlanta and other parts of the South, none here, and none coming here.

Pearl Harbor Day 76 years ago, was a defining moment for my parents, my father never let us forget it. Today is also my older (much older he's 70 now) brother's birthday.

Sketching Now Watercolour
Liz Steele has a new #SketchingNowWatercolour class starting in January. I'm on the waiting list for this class, and a pre-class assignment was to sketch my palette colors. Liz's colors differ from mine a bit, instead of Potter's Pink I have Schmincke Brown Madder, I have Winsor&Newton Raw Sienna instead of Monte Awasta Natural Sienna - which I have on order from Dick Blick. Instead of Transparent Red Oxide I have Quinacridone Burnt Orange, and I have Transparent Brown Oxide with Burnt Umber on order, Dick Blick is out of VanDyke Brown that Liz uses. I have Schmincke Translucent Orange, instead of Transparent Pyroll Orange. Finally, I use Holbein's Verditer Blue instead of Cerulean Blue. Most of my paints contain the same pigments Liz's paints do, and she did say we should use the paints we already have.

When I was a little girl, my grandmother used to put the poinsettias in the church durning Christmas, Her closets were full of the plants in October and November, in the dark the leaves changed from green to red.

Afternoon Hockey game split the day in half, I hate going into a game at 3pm and getting out at 6pm and it's already dark. Didn't help that we lost in overtime.

Went to Walmart to pick up a few groceries, the place was packed with Christmas shoppers. Huge selection of ugly gaudy Christmas sweaters, might pick one up during the after Christmas sales.
