Sometimes things just don't work out. I have a book called 'Painting Water', I tried to use his technique of doing a sunset over water... well his technique is too advanced for me...man did this turned out awful or what... I'm going to try again a little later.

I don't paint so I can't offer any suggestions but I do know what I like and what I don't like - and so far, I haven't seen anything of yours that I didn't like.
ReplyDeleteYou have an easy way about you; your style makes me very comfortable.
Dont worry in 2 or 3 days you'll have it down pat! I think your off to a good start...doesnt look near as bad as you made it out to be! Look at Picaso.....and other impressionist paintings...fits right in to me! I like it..cant wait to see you perfect your technices!
ReplyDeleteThe sun's reflection isn't quite on (and I don't know how to do it better or even that well) but I could feel the sun setting over your water and feel the calm at the end of a day. I think you did a great job on atmosphere so keep trying, don't give up on this technique.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Ellen on this one-- I like it, even if it didn't do what you intended. When I first glanced at it, the sun definitely had that watery/bright/glare-across-the-water look.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Please accept an apology from Angelina-Dork-alina. My blog post the other day sounded much different than what I intended-- I'm a dork with words sometimes. I forget that while I'm thinking about one thing when I write, other people might interpret it differently.
