#WorldWatercolorMonth final watercolor for me for July.  At our get together today, brief discussions of next year's trip to the Northeast states, Oregon and/or Washington... set me dreaming of cooler climates.

Today we presented a check to the charity representative, grand total raised $12,486.00 I was surprised how all those small donations added up.

#WorldWatercolorMonth Checking out what my colors can do mixed together.  Surprised at the Buff Titanium and Prussian blue, and P.B. with Translucent Orange love the gray that made.  I love Prussian blue for mixing greens.

#WorldWatercolorMonth how about a pine tree... used a natural sea sponge to do the pine needles... turned out ok, a little too light, but otherwise I'm happy with the effect.

I need another palette like a hole in the head (my Dad would have said), but I just got this one from England, it is smaller and lighter than my Schmincke palette, a bit larger than my Bijou (Whiskey Painters) box... I like it.  Don't tell anyone, I have another plastic palette on order from Amazon.. isn't here yet.. so more color choices coming soon.
A color mixing exercise this week, choose 6 different items and try to match the color.. I took photos of the actual specimens and what the paint looked like wet, above is the result once dry.  Least successful were the pink flower and the crepe myrtle leaf, the others are pretty close I think.

Spent the evening working on my knitting, next thing I knew it was bedtime and I hadn't done my daily journal page... so splashed on some paint and a quote.  Done.

#WorldWatercolorMonth Stylized rose, mostly because my roses hate this really hot weather and have not produced a flower in a while.

#WorldWatercolorMonth splashed some red, then some blue and yellow... smooched it around and called it done.

This is a color flow page in my new journal... part of my homework in an online class I'm taking with Vinita Pappas http://vinitapappas.com/ .

#WorldWatercolorMonth... had to paint my new hand made leather journal that arrived today.  I LOVE the soft leather, the smell of it, and added bonus it is full of Fabriano watercolor paper (a favorite of mine), and I'll be able to load more paper inside so I'll be able to use this journal for years and years.
