During the Every Day in May challenge I didn't get a chance to draw my new quill brush from Rosemary it's a size 3, holds a ton of water.  I've packed it in my 'dry box' with my iPad for the Women's Freedom Ride.  This coming Saturday I'll be setting off on my motorcycle for an 18 day, 18 state trip.  I don't know how much or if I'll have a chance to update my blog during the trip, but I will be keeping a travel journal and will share while on the road if I can, or when I get back on the 22nd of June.

#EDiM31 View from a window.  From my desk I can see a sliver of the sky and the tops of the trees in my back yard.  This page bled thru to the feather page really badly.  I've had a few I thought ghost images show thru, but this was watercolor bleeding thru on the supposed watercolor paper.  I don't think I'll be buying another Moleskine watercolor journal as the paper quality has gone way down hill.

May30Art - Memorial Day

#EDiM30 feathers.  I used some very old frisket so I was pleased it worked out.  Drew the feather with a stick and the old frisket, once dry I painted the blue, removed the frisket and revealed the feather.  Happy Memorial Day, my thoughts and prayers for the families of the fallen, your loved ones sacrifice was not in vain, and will never be forgotten.

#EDiM29 Condiments.  I used my pentel pocket brush pen, and watercolors to draw the Mayonnaise, Mustard, Salt,Pepper and Ketchup the basic picnic condiments.

#EDiM28 something from a nature walk.  Since we're in the middle of a tropical storm here today, the only walks taken today involved umbrellas and rain puddles.

#EDiM27 Coffee or Tea. I love my coffee in the morning and green tea the rest of the day.  Tried to be clever and draw a coffee cup outline with coffee beans... didn't quite turn out like I'd hoped.

#EDiM26 today insects... a mosquito bite on my left leg today inspired my choice of insect.  It was close as I'd been thinking the Palmetto bug would be my offer, if you've never been to South Carolina, Palmetto bug are GIANT as in HUGE on STEROIDS roaches, that can fly.  They lost to the annoying mosquito this time, maybe next year.

#EDiM24 favorite fruit, had to pick peaches.  I've been craving peaches all Winter, can't wait for some good SC grown peaches this Summer.  I voted today, first time I've ever voted early/absentee no lines, quick and easy, I should go on vacation during elections more often.

EDiM#23 a pet... had to draw our oldest dog 'Jebby' he is 14 years old and mellow and sweet just like his Dad Beauregard.  Gracie daughter of Beau and Jill is more like Jill, hyper and a fighter she is two years younger than Jeb,  he tolerates her bossiness but has his limits of what he's willing to put up with.  We love our Beau babies.

#EDiM22 Bowls, used a few of my new gouache paints to add color to my simple bowls.  Ron and I took a short ride today to check out how my shock adjustment worked.  Just two weeks left before my big bike trip, I'm getting excited about it.

#EDiM21 a street light.  Charleston has great street lights downtown.  We're headed out to watch our hockey team play in West Virginia, we'll watch from a local bar/grill Southside 17.
