Oct14Art

#Inktober2015 number 14, for this one I used inktense pencils (which is ink) to color the little imaginary village of houses.  I saw this Andy Rooney quote in a magazine today and just had to include it in my journal.  I'll be spending tomorrow having Mohs surgery on my ear... time for the cancer to be cut out.  #inktober #kuretake #inktoberKuretake #usa

#inktober2015 number 13 I'm taking a free Strathmore class taught by Alphonso Dunn (I hope I spelled his name correctly).  One of the exercises from this week's lesson was a teddy bear.  So I gave the bear a try,  he makes it look so easy... his bear looks fabulous... mine looks confused LOL.

#Inktober2015 number 12, I used my Lamy orange ink to draw Carrot Top.  I used colored pencils to color his eyes.  This ink is water soluble so I used a waterbrush to spread the ink to color his hair,  now that it's dry it looks a bit pinker than orange in some places.  Ron's chili was fabulous... so we have a plan for the chili contest coming up in a couple of weeks.

#Inktober2015 number 11 a baby Panda I was going to add some bamboo however,  I need a lot of bamboo practice, never got any that I was satisfied with on copy paper.  Ron made a test batch of chili tonight, we haven't eaten it yet, it is simmering in the crock pot,  taste tests were great tonight, chili for dinner tomorrow.

Oct10Art

#inktober2015 number 10, background with pink and blue Distress Ink, then a pen to draw the pipes... pretty wonky pipe system there.
Went to Michaels today to shop for art supply storage, 55% this weekend, came home with the desktop marker caddy, took me about an hour to put it together, but I'm very happy to have all my pens and watercolor pencils as well as my colored pencils on my desk, visible and ready to use, no more searching for the box containing the pen or pencil I want.

#inktober2015 number 9, stayed with the Halloween theme today, used Tim Holtz Distress ink for the background, used a foam wedge to smooth it out, then drew my witch. I think she turned out ok, the witches in the Wizard of Oz used to give me nightmares as a kid. #inktober #kuretake #kuretakeinktober #usa

#Inktober #Inktober2015 #Kuretake #kuretakeInktober #USA number 8,  used my Kuretake Fudegokochi (the white one) to ink the monster/dragon and to do the lettering.  Doodled several dragons today, couldn't figure out how to make the wings work, so just did his face.

#Inktober #Inktober2015 #Kuretake #kuretakeInktober #USA Used my Zig Clean color markers on the 'Hog'.  Ron is thinking of entering a chili cooking contest.  He would be representing our local Charleston Hog Group,  so we settled on 'Hog's Breath chili' for the name of his chili.  I told him I'd make a sign for his table, so this is my first attempt.  I used orange for the hog (because Harley Davidson's colors are Orange and Black)... but maybe he's too cute.

#inktober2015 number 6 - First time in a long time I've done a pencil drawing first, used a pentel pocket brush pen for the lines... couldn't resist adding color.  Lettering done with a .07 Rotring Tikky Graphic pen.

#Inktober2015 - number 5 used a .01 pen for this thumbnail sketch.  I resisted the temptation to add color.  Senator Tim Scott posted pictures of the flooding in SC, amazing pictures.  I'm very blessed that we had only a small amount of ponding in our backyard, so muddy dog feet was my number one problem from the floods.

Oct04Art

#Inktober2015 number 4, more watercolor than ink in this one.  Used a .01 Rotring Tikky Graphic pen to draw the frog.  Used a Pilot parallel pen (green cap 3.8mm) with blue ink cartridge to add the title.  Have no fear the frogs are alive and well and LOVING all this rain.  The sun did come out for a little bit today, but the rain is pounding on our roof again... sigh.

#InkTober2015 number 3, this one done completely in pentel pocket brush pen, to honor the kids downtown today in their kayaks.  They say the rain will continue tomorrow as well... if it does my husband my need his kayak to walk the dogs tomorrow. The frogs are LOVING this and have been singing all day, I've been working on knitting a scarf.  We tried to go shopping today, but the stores were closed... I'm ready for it to stop now.

#Inktober2015 number two, most people are not adding color, but I did see that Jake Parker occasionally added color... so I just couldn't NOT add some color to this.  Used my pentel pocket brush pen (that was running out of ink, new cartridge installed half way through), for the zebra pattern, and watercolor for the colors.

Oct01Art - Inktober 2015

I'm going to participate in Jake Parker's Inktober 2015 ... 31 days of Ink drawings.  I usually do use ink, so this won't be a particular stretch for me, but I do plan on trying some different inks and nibs.  So my Franklin-Christoph Music nib, drawn with a Rotring Tikky Graphic .04 permanent ink pen, the surrounding grey from a TomBow N51, water added.  The inktober title done with a Lamy with a 1.5 Calligraphy nib loaded with deAtramentis Archive black ink.  The music nib pen is loaded with Noodlers Lexington Grey Ink (looks pale next to all the black).   So intober 2015 begins, I promise not to bore everyone with ink pen and ink posts for 31 days. #inktober2015
