Ran across a picture of a Bernese Mountain Dog on the internet today, and it brought back memories of my Berner, Ouija. He was a big sweet dog, and only the second breed champion of his breed to also earn a Utility Dog obedience title.
Breakfast meeting this morning, listening to the candidates for the SC School Superintendent. Ron and I agreed on who we'll support. Hockey game tonight, Rays secured a play off position by finishing the game in a tie, even though they lost in overtime... arghh..
The Great Blue Heron is such an elegant, graceful bird it is a thrill for me every time I see one.
Rainy again today, but warm... I'm hoping for some good weather to work on my yard a bit this weekend.
Flamingos are pink from eating brine shrimp...they are found everywhere as yard art or casinos ... so everyone knows what a flamingo is...
It is POURING down rain today... I'm very weary of all the rain we've had... I know I shouldn't say that, as we are likely to have a drought later on this Summer.
Rain held off until I came home tonight... so my little weather thingy is not exactly correct... darn weather man... I should have waited till later in the day to add it to the page... great weather, great day today, should have worn my flip flops.. yes I should have.
Chic-fil-a is one of my favorite places to eat. Started in my home town Atlanta Georgia, in 1946 by Truett Cathy. They moved into Greenbriar Mall and were always considered a great place to work, because they aren't open on Sunday's and they treat their employees right. I don't think there are many Chic-fil-a restaurants outside of the Southeast, but if you visit here, give them a try.
Bribes, back room deals, arm twisting, dirty tricks... naked men in showers...horse heads are next... the Democrat party is determined to pass the hell-th care bill no matter who it hurts.
I do enjoy these trips... and feel a sense of accomplishment. That we've done some small part of preserving the forest for others to enjoy for years to come. The forest service needs volunteers to make up for all the budget cuts they have faced the past few years.

We're headed to North Carolina tomorrow, to work in the Uwharrie National Forest putting up guard rails, picking up trash and whatever else they want us to do... our Jeep club has adopted a OHV (off highway Vehicle) trail in the park up there and we go up there to work several times a year. It's a lot of work, but it is worth it to have a great place to go and enjoy our Jeeps and the outdoors. I may not be able to update my blog until I get home on Sunday evening.. I'll catch up then.
Brown out at work today, brought all the computers, phones and the heater... DOWN... so I took a advantage and got my annual check up and all my prescription refills...
Now about that Toucan... Winna wanted me to draw my Scarlett Macaw "Rico"... and I did try... but I couldn't get it right... so I did the Toucan instead... I'll keep working on a Macaw... until one is fit to publish.
Headed to my watercolor class.... been thinking about telling the teacher the dog ate my homework :-) but which dog? A JRT or the lab? Who to blame?
Long day, meetings after work at the Library... home very late... off to bed...to dream of Spring.
