I used my watercolor pencils for the first time tonight, I don't think I like them... I'll have to work with them a bit more before I decide.

It's one thing to watch something like this on a nature show on TV, it is a whole different thing when it happens just outside your window... amazing to watch and over in a flash. I think I know now what those big birds I've been seeing are.

I was watching Biography (which I do know how to spell) and was stuck by the shape of Bruce Willis head while he was being interviewed on camera... my drawing doesn't look like him but I do think I got his bald head correct :-)

Is that a WART at the end of the road.... ok this one is really, really horrid... but I was working on a sky technique... it didn't go well, added a road house, trees and fence didn't improve it one bit... This is a journey, this is a pothole in the road LOL

This is what happens when I don't pay attention when I order stuff. I ordered a new handbook, except I ordered the wrong size... it's cute but that's about all it is. I got my enameled butcher tray... I LOVE it... I also ended up doing a spread sheet of my paint inventory... I'm almost out of Ultramarine Blue and yet I have 4 count um 4 tubes of Raw Sienna... what was I thinking????

I'm not used to working without a net... my pencil lines to keep my text straight...but this didn't turn out too bad, so I'm thinking it's a technique I'll be using more often in this Journal. Thanks for the tip Micahnova.

Step 3 - add Burnt umber to the red and start trying to shade in his muscles and shadows...
Step 4 - add Ultramarine blue and Burnt umber to make black for mane and tail.
Step 5 use watered down version of this for hooves.
Now wait for it to dry.

Step 2 - 50/50 mix of Aliz. Crimson and Burnt Sienna... instructions called for Light Red, but I didn't have any.

Messed up one of his ears... made it too long... oh well press on
