First I did color swatches, trying to decide what colors to use. I did these last night ... actually did a bunch more than these but the color top left is what I decided on for a base color.

Spent the day shopping, doing laundry the usual Sunday stuff. Bought some yarn at Michael's I'm going to knit some leg warmers. And I've been practicing drawing and listening to videos on drawing for watercolor paintings.
Horse-on-WC-Paper
This is the drawing on 9x12 Watercolor paper... now I want to re-watch the video on what colors to use... I'm pleased with the drawing... now if I can manage to paint it I'll be even happier.
Horse-wAcetate
On my way back from William Holland I stopped to take pictures of these Clysdale horses in a field. This is the horse picture with an overlay Acetate sheet so that I could define the horse's shapes to transfer it to my watercolor paper.

WCS10-03-2008
This was an exercise in VALUES.. using 1 color, ultrmarine blue... to create sky mountains and water...this was very hard to do... I don't like the way my water came out... I may try this exercise again tomorrow.

SC actually is allowing Alligator hunting this year... hope nobody bothers this little guy. I find myself fasinated and duly cautious ,he's WAY BIGGER than I thought and pretty scary looking. He is VERY cautious of me, and so I've never seen anything more than his eyes in the mirky water... but today it was chilly and he decided to catch some sun, and Ron managed to snap a picture from the car window.
Signed up today for an online drawing course. It starts next Tuesday, I'm looking forward to it. I found out about it on the EDM Yahoo group, the website to sign up is www.dotcalmvillage.net

Did well at the Shoot tonight another personal best for me. Discovered that my scanner is too small to handle a 2 page spread in this journal... not a huge deal since I rarely do 2 page spreads.

Decided to do a Calender as my first page in this new Journal It's a family birthday month, with grand daughter Laurel this Saturday and my husband Ron next Saturday.
