This is Tim Scott, he is running for the SC 1st District Seat in Congress (Henry Brown is retiring).. I have decided to support Tim Scott in the primary election 40 days from now. I have met and talked to all of the candidates... and in my opinion Tim is the best man for the job. If you live in the first district and are undecided... you should have a look at Tim and his record. See his website at http://www.votetimscott.com/

They're going to put wind turbines off the coast of Hyannis Port... the Kennedy's fought against it for years and years, but there are no Kennedy's in power to fight it any longer. It will generate a little power for a LOT of money, and it will kill thousands of birds, but it will be a boon to fish and bottom feeders (like lobster) as they will feed off the carcasses of the dead birds...and eventually when the sea air corrodes the gears and electronics then they will form reefs perhaps, and monuments to human foolishness. At least that's what I think the net result of this little experiment in wind power will be.
I used a photo on Google Maps to draw the lighthouse at the Hyannis Port Yacht club.

First I noticed the white exclamation point.. that is an egret from a distance... 15 stories below us... it was the size of a punctuation mark, a spot of white among the yellows, greens and purples of the marsh grasses and the water in and around the grasses... and then I noticed the people... OMG what are they doing out there... must have been tourists from the hotel across the way... no native would have WALKED into that marsh... gators abound in these marshes.. and snakes and... well... take a Carolina skiff (a flat bottom boat) but don't WALK out there... The Lord watches over fools and Irishmen they say... and so he must have been watching over these folks... at least while I was there...

Where do lizards go for the winter I wonder? Last summer we had a family of lizards that hung out on our front porch and in, under and around my flower boxes... this winter, no lizards... today sitting on the cushion of my wicker chair on the porch... a little green lizard... relative of my lizards from last year? I don't know... but since I think they help keep the bugs off my flowers I'm glad they are back.

We have an owl in our neighborhood... I haven't actually seen him, I just hear him. I'd always thought owls were nocturnal... but this one is hoot, hooting during the day... most of the day actually. Could he have his days and nights confused? Or are there owls that are not nocturnal?

Will Rodgers was quite the political humorist... I sure think this country could use some political humor these days... everyone is so 'up tight', it might help people to lighten up and see the humor in life.

Had to add a sketch of Snoopy, the most famous cartoon dog of all time. Created by Charles M. Shultz and first appearing on October 4th, 1950... Snoopy is just 5 months older than me... so this beagle has been a favorite of mine, my whole life. I've never owned a Beagle, but my Mom and younger brother have. Great dogs beagles I'm surprised they aren't more popular than they are.

Tiger is doing well at the Master's in Augusta Georgia. My uncle Preston used to go to the Master's every year... he was an avid golfer. My dad's only sport was water skiing, he didn't play golf but he liked to watch it on tv. Hopefully the press will focus on Tiger's golf and leave his private life alone... I am tired of hearing about it... and I bet lots of other people are too.

Couldn't think of a thing I wanted to draw today... nor anything profound to say... I know, I know I rarely say anything profound, or draw anything memorable.. but some days the blank page wins the battle completely... and today was one of those days.
